I Died Multiple Times. Here’s What I Learned From Being on the Other Side.

Coupons.

They really do save you money. I know, I thought it was just something that was part of my parent’s generation. But both times I died it was made clear to me in the afterlife that I could save a lot of money on groceries, hardware store items, pet food, you name it, if I took up clipping coupons.

And that’s a savings on top of normal advantage card type savings. That’s even on top of sale prices. Just regular sales, not clearance or markdowns, those are handled separately through the store’s POS system. POS stands for point of sale if you weren’t aware.

Safeway generally has the best coupons, industrywide. Walmart’s coupons are more item specific, and usually tied to a promotion being run by the manufacturer or distributer (yes it can be spelled either way). Walmart’s savings come more from their genius at inventory management, so they’re more interested in being low price on everything versus individual promotional items.

Staples, the office supply store, has excellent coupons. So does Bed Bath and Beyond. Tractor Supply Co. is also very good, from what I hear, but I have no direct experience.

But take it from me, cause I’ve met him, and he’s the one who clued me in to this whole coupon business: No saves like Jesus!

You know who introduced me to him?

You’ll never guess!

My absorbed twin!

She didn’t know anything about coupons, but was really helpful navigating the spirit world for a newcomer like myself. I was only there for a few minutes the first time, and about an hour the second, but both times she met at the gate and walked me right back to the light when my blood oxygen levels stabilized in the physical world. She didn’t say much but she knew everybody. And we’re basically the same person, so we didn’t really have much to discuss. She’s been up there watching my whole life for, well, I don’t really want to share my age here, but, a while. She knew Jesus, Betty Crocker, Princess Di, Paul Walker, both Martin Luthers (I guess the second one is Martin Luther King). She played piano and harp, I guess everyone gets two instruments. I don’t want to say I enjoyed being there, because I knew what it meant, but it was fascinating, and I’m glad to be back.

Anyway. I’m off to Costco.

Excellent coupons. Really a well run store.
